They say you never forget your first love, this is so true. Our love story begins as high school sweethearts, at Rockledge High. Walter wrestled and I was a wrestleling cheerleader, we both were involved in sports. We spent a lot of time on the river boating and water sking. Walter was a pro when it came to water sking; he could bare foot ski and taught many of our friends how to water ski. Breeze Swept was our stompping grounds and had great times with our friends.
I describe our lives as a shape of a heart, as you start drawing the heart that symbolizes the begining of us, the arches are the times we spent together. Walter would bike home after school with me on the handle bars before he got his first car. We were young, in love and full of life; the time we spent together was like the movie "Notebook". But time was cut short once we both graduated, God had other plans for us.
As you draw pass the arches of the heart this where we both traveled down different paths. Both of us were blessed with children, Walter with 4 hansome boys; Larry, Steven, Sean and Daniel and has a beautiful granddaughter Ayianna. I was blessed with one daughter Noelle, stepdaughter-Roxanne and stepson-David; and also have 3 precious grandchildren Hope, McKenzie and Riley. Many memories throughout the years.
As you finish drawing the heart, three quarters down this is where the Lord re-united us back together. I was visiting some family and friends in 2006 and Walter and I had crossed paths, the first time we hugged each other our hearts could not stop pounding; we both knew at that point we would be starting a new chapter in our lives this time together. Though we had lived different lives for 36 years, we knew that compromises would have to happen. I then moved from North Carolina to Florida, we went through some adjustments as all couples do and the out come made us stronger in our faith and each other. Now that our love has been re-kindled and we have choosen each other as "soulmates" we look foward to our journey in life and creating wonderful memories with our family and friends.
As you finish the heart shape this is where our marriage begins, not as one heart but as two hearts joined together; inner locked and bound by our christian faith. We truly believe the Lord had his hand in this re-union, to us this is our fairytale love story and look forward to the years we are blessed to have with each other. |
